Notice is hereby given that the City of Carpinteria’s Architectural Review Board will hold a regular public meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 in the Council Chambers at City Hall in Carpinteria, California.

This is a time for public comments on matters not otherwise on the agenda but within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Architectural Review Board.  Comments shall be limited to 15 minutes, divided among those persons desiring to speak, but no person shall speak longer than five minutes.  Persons wishing to speak on a specific item will be recognized at the time the agenda item is considered.

 

The City is not responsible for the content of statements made during the public comment period, or the factual accuracy of any such statements.

1)      Applicant:  Ray Twyford, Blackbird Architects for Carpinteria Sanitary District

Project Location:  5300 Sixth Street

Zoning:  Community Facility (CF)

 

Request of Ray Twyford, agent/architect for the Carpinteria Sanitary District, to consider Project 17-1868-DP/CDP for preliminary review of a request to demolish an existing 3,600 square foot modular building for the Carpinteria Sanitary District and construct a new one-story 4,118 square foot office building in its place. The project would include grading to raise the new building above the floodplain (cut 200 cubic yards, fill 1,500 cubic yards, for a net import of 1,300 cubic yards), new hardscape, removal of nine trees, and new landscaping. Parking for the new headquarters building is proposed to remain in the City’s Sixth Street right-of-way. The property is a 1.1 acre parcel zoned Community Facility (CF) and shown as APN 003-332-015, addressed as 5300 Sixth Street.

Project Location:  1112 Linden Avenue

Zoning:  Planned Residential Development (PRD-20)

 

Request of Ellen Bildstein, agent/architect for Phari, LLC, to consider Project 17-1877-DP/CDP for preliminary review of a request to remodel and convert an existing single family dwelling and detached garage/second unit into a five-unit multifamily residential apartment development. The existing single family residence would be enlarged by 251 square feet and split into two attached units; the detached garage/second unit building would be expanded by 12 square feet and divided into three attached apartment units. Expanded parking areas and updated landscaping and utilities are proposed as part of the project. The property is an 11,085 square foot parcel zoned Planned Residential Development (PRD-20) and shown as APN 004-041-001, addressed as 1112 Linden Avenue.
