Notice is hereby given that the
City of Carpinteria’s Architectural Review Board
will hold a regular public meeting at 5:30 p.m.
on Thursday, March 26, 2009 in the
Council Chambers at City Hall in Carpinteria, California.
A. CALL TO ORDER
C. PRESENTATIONS BY
This is a time for public comments on matters not
otherwise on the agenda but within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Architectural
Review Board. Comments shall be limited
to 15 minutes, divided among those persons desiring to speak, but no person
shall speak longer than five minutes.
Persons wishing to speak on a specific item will be recognized at the
time the agenda item is considered.
The City is not responsible for the content of
statements made during the public comment period,
or the factual accuracy of any such statements.

on the request of Vishna Herrity of the Main
Center to consider a Preliminary/Final
review of a proposal to replace the existing Main School
sign with a new sign along Eighth
Street and install a new sign along Palm Avenue.
The existing “Main
School / A California Distinguished
School” sign would be replaced with a sign reading “Main Family
/ Centro De Recursos Familiares De Main”. The sign along the Palm Avenue frontage would be affixed to
the wall of a portable building near the driveway entrance and would read the
same. The property is a 3.5 acre site
and is shown as APN 003-323-001, located at 5201 Eighth Street.
2) Applicant: Barry Horwitz, for Steve Staats Planner:

Project Location: 4822 Fifth Street
Zoning: Planned Residential Development (PRD-20)
Hearing on the request of Barry Horwitz, for Steve Staats to consider
Preliminary/Final review of a proposal to change the exterior appearance of the
front residence. Similar
materials and details as have been used for the remodel of the residence at the
rear of the property are proposed. There
would be no increase in the floor area of the front residence. A new gable roof would replace the existing
hip roof. A small front porch cover
would be added. The stucco walls would
be replaced with cedar shingles cement board lap siding and a ledge stone
veneer wainscot. Windows and doors would
also be replaced. The property is a
7,225 square foot parcel zoned PRD-20 and shown as APN 003-305-011, located at 4822 Fifth Street.
