Comments shall be limited to 15 minutes, divided among those persons desiring to speak, but no person shall speak longer than five minutes. Continued hearing on the request of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to construct replacement overcrossings and interchanges with traffic signals for Linden Avenue and Casitas Pass Road at US Highway 101; to replace the US Highway 101 mainline bridges over Carpinteria Creek; and to construct a roadway extension for Via Real from its terminus at San Roque Mobile Home Park across Carpinteria Creek to Casitas Pass Road and from Vallecito Road to Linden Avenue. The proposed project will provide vehicle travel lanes and a dedicated bike lane and sidewalk on both sides of the overcrossings. The Via Real extension will also include bike lanes and the abandonment of the existing dry weather pedestrian/bike crossing in Carpinteria Creek. A sidewalk will be added on one side of Via Real. Lighting and landscaping is also included throughout the project area.
Hearing on the request of William Araluce and George Manuras, agents for Barbara and Peter Coeler to consider Case No. 10-1551-DPR/CDP for final review of requested revisions to the previously-approved Islands Apartments Remodel project. The requested revisions include new decorative walls and gates including a driveway vehicle gate, and gas fire pits for each of the ground floor units. The 8,818 square foot property is zoned Planned Residential Development (PRD-20) and is shown as APN 003-483-007 located at 261 Linden Avenue.
