Notice is hereby given that the City of Carpinteria’s Architectural Review Board will hold a regular public meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2013 in the Council Chambers at City Hall in Carpinteria, California.

This is a time for public comments on matters not otherwise on the agenda but within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Architectural Review Board.  Comments shall be limited to 15 minutes, divided among those persons desiring to speak, but no person shall speak longer than five minutes.  Persons wishing to speak on a specific item will be recognized at the time the agenda item is considered.

1)      Applicant:  CA Department of Parks and Recreation for Carpinteria State Beach

         Project Number:  13-1673-ARB                                                Planner:  Nick Bobroff

         Project Location:  Carpinteria State Beach

         Zoning:  Recreation (REC)

 

         Hearing on the request of the CA Department of Parks and Recreation on behalf of Carpinteria State Beach to consider Case No. 13-1673-ARB for preliminary/final review of a proposal to repurpose and remodel the existing park visitor center/office to serve exclusively as the park’s visitor center and adjacent to the remodeled visitor center, construct a new 1,440 square foot building to provide additional amenities to support the park’s educational programs and serve the park’s operations/office needs.  As part of the project, various landscape and hardscape improvements are proposed for the visitor center area.  The property is zoned Recreation (REC) and shown as APNs 003-510-001 and 003-510-ROW located at Carpinteria State Beach.

           Hearing on the request of Bryan Murphy, Agent/Architect for Dario Pini to consider Case No. 12-1649-DPR/CDP for final review of a proposal to add 516 sq. ft. and remodel the existing Casa Del Sol motel.  The property is a 42,053 sq. ft. parcel zoned CPD and shown as APN 001-170-019 located at 5585 Carpinteria Avenue.

 

3)      Applicant:  Robin Donaldson, AIA, Shubin + Donaldson Architects, Inc.   Planner:  Steve Goggia

Project Number:  13-1664-ARB

Project Location:  6380 Via Real

Zoning:  Industrial Research Park (M-RP)

 

           Hearing on the request of Robin Donaldson, AIA, architect for Carpinteria Business Park Investors, LLC consider Case No. 13-1664-ARB for continued preliminary review to redesign the 84,550 square foot office building with 340 associated parking spaces approved by the City Council in September 2008.  The redesigned structure would be 84,474 square feet in size, while the maximum height would remain as approved at 27.5 feet.  Three additional parking spaces are proposed, bring the total to 343.  The property is an 8.63 acre parcel zoned Industrial Research Park (MRP) and shown as APN 001-190-097 located at 6380 Via Real.

 

4)      Applicant:  City of Carpinteria, Public Works Department       Planner:  Nick Bobroff

         Project Number:  13-1669-CDP

         Project Location:  4700 Ninth Street at Franklin Creek

         Zoning:  Planned Residential Development (PRD-13) and Single Family Residential (4-R-1)

 

         Hearing on the request of the City of Carpinteria Public Works Department to consider Case No. 13-1669-CDP for continued preliminary review of a proposal to remove the existing Ninth Street Pedestrian Bridge and replace it with a new pre-fabricated free-span pedestrian bridge.  The new bridge would be located within the approximate same location and alignment as the existing bridge.  The project includes new walkway approaches and ramps, fencing and landscaping at the bridge ends.  The property is zoned Planned Residential Development (PRD-13) and Single Family Residential (4-R-1) and shown as APNs 003-242-036 and 003-243-032 located at the 4700 block of Ninth Street at Franklin Creek.
