Notice is hereby given that the City of Carpinteria’s Architectural Review Board will hold a regular public meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 in the Council Chambers at City Hall in Carpinteria, California.

This is a time for public comments on matters not otherwise on the agenda but within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Architectural Review Board. Comments shall be limited to 15 minutes, divided among those persons desiring to speak, but no person shall speak longer than five minutes. Persons wishing to speak on a specific item will be recognized at the time the agenda item is considered.
The City is not responsible for the content of statements made during the public comment period, or the factual accuracy of any such statements.

Hearing on the request of William Araluce, AIA, agent/architect for the Dorrance Way Group, LLC, to consider Case No. 11-1586-DP/CDP for revised final review of a request to construct a new two-story single family dwelling and detached two-car garage on a vacant parcel. The proposed revisions entail adding a third bedroom to the residence and increase the building’s square footage by 56 square feet. The property is a 2,700 square foot parcel zoned Planned Residential Development (PRD-20) and shown as APN 003-436-023 located 4765 Dorrance Way.
Hearing on the request of John Godkin, for Thomas Van Eyck owner, to consider Case No. 13-1682-ARB/CDP for preliminary review of a request to construct an addition of 316 square feet to the front of the existing residence and a 288 square foot patio structure in the rear yard. The addition would consist of a new bedroom and entry room. The property is a 8,276 square foot parcel zoned Single Family Residential (8-R-1) and shown as APN 001-253-005, located at 1248 La Brea Lane.
Hearing on the request of Rainer Schildknecht (owner/architect) to consider Case No. 13-1683-CDP/ARB for preliminary review of a request to construct a new 1,932 square foot single family residence and two car garage. The property is a 4,860 square foot vacant parcel zoned Single Family Residential (4-R-1) and shown as APN 003-242-018, located at 4634 Ninth Street.
Hearing on the request of Seth Briskman, agent/architect for Bob and Richard Gobuty to consider Case No. 08-1417-DP/CDP/TPM for revised preliminary review of a request to remodel and construct additions to an existing single family residence, construct two new two-story residential units and attached garages, and subdivide the property for condominium purposes. The property is a 10,998 square foot parcel zoned Planned Residential Development (PRD-15) and shown as APN 003-301-020 located at 4716 Seventh Street.

NOTES: For those projects that do not require Planning Commission approval, recommendations for preliminary approval by the Architectural Review Board will be forwarded to the Community Development Director for a decision. Those Community Development Director decisions that are appealable pursuant to CMC §14.12.020(2) may be appealed to the Planning Commission. Appeals must be filed with the City Clerk within 10 calendar days of the Director’s action.
