Comments shall be limited to 15 minutes, divided among those persons desiring to speak, but no person shall speak longer than five minutes. Persons wishing to speak on a specific item will be recognized at the time the agenda item is considered.

Hearing on the request of NMA Architects, agent/architect for the Carpinteria Valley Arts Council, to consider Project 16-1841-DP/CDP for final review of a proposal to expand the Arts Center into the adjoining property and remodel the existing building. The proposed interior improvements include demolition of some interior walls and facilities as well as the addition of a storage room, office space, second bathroom, and a revised kitchen. Proposed exterior improvements include removal of the existing frontage features, alterations to the existing window and door arrangement, addition of a metal wrap-around awning, new signage, and refinishing and repainting of the façade. There would be no change to the building’s square footage or height. The property is a 3,125 square foot parcel zoned Central Business (CB) with a Visitor-serving Commercial Overlay (V) and shown as APN 003-262-009, addressed as 865 Linden Avenue.
Request of Kevin Moore, agent/architect for Scott Smigel to consider Project 16-1844-DP/CDP for final review of a request to allow a change of use and remodel to the former Sunburst Printers shop to accommodate a new retail wine sales business and wine bar. Proposed interior improvements to the building include a remodel to create a new kitchen, service bar, retail area and accessible restroom. Exterior improvements include construction of a new exterior deck, entry vestibule, accessible access ramp and new paint, lighting and windows/doors. The property is a 6,250 square foot parcel zoned Commercial Planned Development (CPD) with a Visitor-serving Commercial (VC) Overlay and shown as APN 004-041-013 addressed as 5080 Carpinteria Avenue.
