Special Meeting of the City Council

The special meeting tonight is being broadcast live over Government Access Television Channel 18.


When addressing the City Council, please be use to use the microphone. Stating your name will also assist the City Council and staff in responding to your comments but is not required to speak.


Materials related to an item on this Agenda submitted to the City Council after distribution of the agenda packet are available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office at 5775 Carpinteria Avenue, Carpinteria, during normal business hours. Such documents are also available on the City of Carpinteria website at subject to staff’s ability to post the documents before the meeting.


Any written or printed material and/or exhibits presented at a City Council meeting or worksession becomes the property of the City.

5:02 p.m.           2.         Temporary Adjournment to Closed Session


                                    The City Council will temporarily adjourn to a closed session for the purpose of discussion of the following:

                                    Negotiating Party: Carpinteria Valley Water District Under negotiation:  Price and terms of payment


5:30 p.m.           3.         Reconvene in Open Session


5:32 p.m.           4.         Consideration of contract with Dudek Engineering for professional construction management and

construction engineering services for the Via Real Walkway Project


(Staff presenter:  Charles Ebeling, Public Works Director)


5:45 p.m.               5.         The City Council, in coordination with Caltrans and Santa Barbara County Association of Governments, will hold workshop on the Linden Avenue & Casitas Pass Road Interchanges Project Traffic & Circulation


The workshop will focus on traffic and circulation, including a discussion of existing traffic conditions on US Highway 101 and the two overcrossings; the methods used to predict future traffic volumes; the influence of future traffic volumes on project design; and, general comparison of traffic and circulation patterns associated with the selected design versus various alternatives explored in the design process.  The history of the project design will also be presented.


8:00 p.m.           6.         The Council will receive public comment concerning the matters that are the subject of the special meeting.
