Project # 08-1429-CUP/CDP
The City of Carpinteria Environmental
Review Committee will review the Draft Mitigated
Negative Declaration for the Costa’s Auto Works project. The proposal is a request to demolish an
existing 840 square foot residence and four sheds totaling approximately 328
square feet, and construct a new 2,852 square foot auto body repair shop. The shop will be a new location for an
existing business known as Costa’s Auto Works,
currently located approximately 1½ mile to the east at 5665 Carpinteria Avenue. In addition to the repair bays, the single-story building would include a
pre-fabricated paint spray booth, an
office and additional retail space.
Twelve on-site parking spaces would be provided. Two large trees would be removed in addition
to a variety of existing landscape plants.
New landscaping would be installed including trees along Carpinteria Avenue
and several bioswales along the site’s perimeters.
The site is located at 4213
Carpinteria Avenue (APN
003-212-026). The project is subject to
review per the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
