THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE THE ORDER IN WHICH ITEMS ARE HEARD.  APPLICANTS NOT IN ATTENDANCE WHEN THEIR ITEM IS CALLED MAY HAVE THEIR ITEM CONTINUED TO THE NEXT REGULAR MEETING.

 

Any written, printed or electronic material and/or exhibit presented at this meeting becomes the property of the City, and a copy must be provided to City staff.

 

This meeting will be broadcast live on Government Access Television Channel 21 and rebroadcast on Wednesday after the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.

This time on the agenda provides an opportunity for the public to address the Planning Commission on items within the jurisdiction of the Commission and not listed on other sections of the agenda.  Please limit comments to no more than five minutes.  Depending on the number of speakers wishing to make comments, the Chair may further limit the time available to each speaker to control the amount of time spent on this part of the agenda.  If you wish to speak on a CONSENT CALENDAR item, please do so during this part of the meeting.

 

Please be advised that California law does not allow the Planning Commission to discuss or take action on any issue presented by the public during this portion of the meeting.  The Commission may ask a question for clarification, provide a brief response to public comment, refer the matter to staff for review and a later report or direct staff to place an item on a future agenda.

 

The City is not responsible for the content of statements made during the public comment period or the factual accuracy of any such statements.

Items on the Consent Calendar are considered to be routine and are normally enacted by one unanimous vote of the Commission.  Individual items may be removed and considered separately at the request of a Commissioner.  Any item removed from the Consent Calendar will be added to another section of the agenda.

a.   Project # 11-1607-CDP/VAR                                            Planner:  Nick Bobroff

 

Hearing on the request of Don Swann, agent for Amy and Eric Maulhardt, to consider Case No. 11-1607-CDP/VAR (application filed December 9, 2011) for a Coastal Development Permit to allow demolition of an existing single family residence and construction of a new 2,960 square foot single family residence and attached 553 square foot two-car garage and a Variance from the side setback requirements under the provisions of the 20-R-1 Single Family Residential Zone District to allow for a minimum side setback of 12 feet instead of the required 20-foot setback; and to accept the Exemption pursuant to §15301, 15303 and 15305 of the State Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act.  The application involves APN 003-333-009 located at 5481 Calle Ocho.

b.  Project # 12-1615-CUPR/CDP                                         Planner:  Shanna F. Farley

 

Hearing on request of the Carpinteria Boys and Girls Club to consider Case No. 12-1615-CUPR/CDP (application filed January 27, 2012) for a Revised Conditional Use Permit and a Coastal Development Permit to allow private rental of the facility for events and to modify exterior lighting under the provisions of the Planned Residential Development Zone District; and to and to accept the exemption pursuant to §15323 and 15332 of the State Guidelines for the implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).  The application involves APN 004-006-001 located at 4849 Foothill Road.

All actions of the Planning Commission may be appealed to the City Council. Appeals must be filed with the City Clerk within 10 calendar days of the Commission's action. Appeal deadline for items on this agenda:  5:00 p.m., April 12, 2012. The next regular Planning Commission meeting will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
