This is a time for public comments on matters not otherwise on the agenda but within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Planning Commission.  Comments shall be limited to 15 minutes, divided among those persons desiring to speak, but no person shall speak longer than five minutes.  Persons wishing to speak on a specific item will be recognized at the time the agenda item is considered.

The City is not responsible for the content of statements made during the public comment period, or the factual accuracy of any such statements.

Agricultural Setback Discussion

The Planning Commission and City Council will discuss agricultural setbacks from adjacent land uses as addressed in General Plan Policy LU-3n

 

7.       NEW PUBLIC HEARING

 

          Casas de las Flores - Case No. 09-1514-CON                          Planner:  Steve Goggia

Hearing on the request of Lisa Plowman, Peikert Group Architects, LLP, agent for Peoples’ Self-Help Housing Corporation, to consider Case No. 09-1514-CON [application filed 6/19/09] for conceptual review of a proposal to remove existing travel trailers at the Carpinteria Camper Park and demolish one single family residence to construct 40 apartment units and a 4,200 square foot community center.  Outdoor recreation areas and 79 parking spaces would also be provided.  Access would be from a private driveway off Via Real with a secondary emergency access at the western property boundary.  The apartments would be a mix of one, two and three-bedroom units and would be rented at below market rates.  The application involves APNs 004-013A-18, 19 and 20, located at 4096 Via Real.
